16x12 Wheels in FP?

Can 12 inch wide wheels be used in FP with a weight penalty? My latest rulebook is 5 years old and it seems Prepared rules are always in flux.

Nope... 12" wheels are not listed or allowed in FP. That went into effect in about 2000... 16x10 is as big as you can go. You might be able to sneak in if you have a GT2 legal car (if they are allowed there).

Zlalomz,
The first sentence in the 2003 book under F Prepared states " If no wheel size limit is listed , maximum diameter is 16 " and maximum diameter is 10" . "

Under 240, 260 and 280 z's the wheel size is stated at maximum of 16 " x10".

According to the new book 12" wide wheels would be illlegal in F Prepared.

Thanks for the info. I just talked to Tom at Mid-Atlantic Motorsports and he was telling me about the big performance gains for customer Bill Coffey when he went to 16x12 wheels and 23.5x11.5x16 slicks. With my wide 280 YZ fenders maybe no one will notice. :D Just kidding. At the Hybrid Z meet here in NorCal I just picked up another set of IMSA front flares from Bill Lapp, son of a 70's racer of the same name who campaigned a Z.
