16x12 Panasports

I am surprised they fit under the red IMSA flares I have. http://dev.zdriver.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=5263
I will put on a stock fender with the rear flares moved up front like
Tom Holt has to see if they clear. I haven't put the rear suspension in yet for rear flare checks.

I have added pictures in my gallery showing 3 styles of front flares over 16x12 wheels with 5 inches backspacing. The Motorsport Auto rear "Street Flare", moved up front, is not quite enough.

I'm jealous! This may have been covered already, but where did you buy them from, and what's the going rate?

I bought them from Tom at Mid-Atlantic Motorsports since he was the one that suggested 12 inch wheels. Since they are 3 piece wheels I can scale back to 10 inch if the offset proves to be too much. Prices are on his website at http://www.midatlanticmotorsport.com/

16 x 12

What class are you running? I thought SCCA decided against anything wider than 10 in FP. Or do I need to buy some new wheels?????

The latest proposal sent out by the SCCA is suggesting "re-allowing" 12's in FP with a 50 lb weight penalty, and greater than 16" diameter wheels with a 100 lb penalty. I wrote in semi opposition to the proposal suggesting a greater weight penalty for the width and less weight, if any, for the diameter. The last I heard from my inside connection on the Prepared advisory committee was that my voice was heard and that the next (final?) proposal will include more weight for oversized wheels. Probably 75 or 100 lbs.

Other (non wheel) proposals included extra weight for mid/rear engine cars, that has apparantly been tossed. The multi valve weight factor has been reduced. The BMW will get a bunch of weight regardless, the 914-6s will gain a little bit and the early Z's still lose a few pounds.

Tune in to see how it all shakes out!

Tom

Too bad my belly is not included in weight penalties. If you ever decide to go to the "dark side " of 12 inch wheels, Tom, I have included shots of three different types of flares. The rear ones you have; moved to the front are marginal. Kind of Dolly Parton in an A cup. https://www.zdriver.com/gallery/show...&cat=500&page=
The YZ and IMSA flares fit fine. If they don't allow 12 inch in FP I will run AP or EM. It doesn't matter since there are national champs or contenders in every class that kick my butt.

The last fasttrak I read said minimum weights of two valve per cylinder engines were going to be .75 X displacement

1800 lbs for a 240
1950 for a 260
2100 still for 280

I've got all three blocks, and since at last weigh I am now at 1989#, with the pass seat and recent chassis reinforcements, I'm looking at my pile of junk in the shop to see if I can put together a 260 motor. Only problem with the 260 block is it looks like somebody stored it outside for a while and the pistons are seized up pretty tight in the cylinders.

So if I put the 260 crank in a 240 block and in the unlikely (event) that I trophy, who is going to protest me?
