Yes, it's true...

I'm actually going to be driving a Z car to the Monterey Historic Races @ Laguna Seca next week...

This "stealth" project has been in the works for nearly 3 years now.

For anyone who wants to see the unveiling of one of the sickest Z cars on the planet, you should come...

Just being driven to the race. Actually, this car probably has more money in it than some of the historic race cars...

I'll be there in the ZONC "paddock" on Saturday. Here's the link to the race schedule:

http://www.montereyhistoric.com/spec.../schedule.html

You can still buy tickets online for like $65 for Saturday.

There will be plenty of pictures after the "reveal"! hehehe

Are you talking about the '82 Turbo? The Jim Cooke Racing clone?

Nope, it's not the Jim Cook Racing '82 Turbo.

P.S.
It's the original car, not a clone. I actually bought it from Jim's widow Sandy.

This is a car I've been working on quietly over the last 2.5 years and is part of the reason the JCR car has taken so long.

Now that this one is done, the JCR project goes into over drive.

i'm trying to look up the jim cooke car, but all i find is a parts supplier and a not-too-impressive 280ZX. is your car really the jim cooke car? and which one is it?

edit: i found the jim cooke car description in your "garage". good stuff. i don't know why this posted twice. sorry.

I just went and looked at that description in my garage. Damn, I posted that last year! It's hard to believe that project hasn't made much progress since then...

Now that this one is finished, the Jim Cook car will start to get the love and attention it deserves!

Let's see, a mild tune making about 500rwhp should do the trick nicely until then...

Just mentioning the Monterey Historics makes me homesick

Timo Glock driving a Toyota IMSA GTP racecar is gonna be awesome. I remember those cars dominating back in the day.

Anyone who happened to be in the East Bay tonight got a chance to see the "new" Z at Union Landing in Union City... She made a "sneak preview" appearance at Krispy Kreme!

Now, it's back into the garage until next weekend!

lol global warming isnt something new its happened before, people talk about global warming and dont know a thing about it. global warming is part of the world cycle you cant stop it. the problem is we are accelerating it and possibly making it more intense than last time. how do you think the ice age came about last time. just all part of the cycle

global warming is sucha farce--and the fake nobel given wasnt impressive either...this planet has been going thru these cycles a lot longer than we have been here--watch the penn and teller bit on youtube---they have the deal correct----human influence on this earth's cycles.....the water covering this earth was spozed to have been here already, but is overdue.....the co2 produced by humans and goats and cows and other sources isnt nearly as intense nor as earth changing as the volcanoes andother sources this earth produces by itself-----we are such absolutely arrogant idjits to think we are the sole responsibility for the destruction of our planet???there are things we can do and realistically consider for the improvement of our planet--but we cannot worry about things we have no control over ....use science not feelings for rationalizing the alleged destrucion of our planet-----watch penna nd teller--is another thread i posted and no one read......

sorry LWW for the threadjack
