what should i do fellas?
soooooo,
here is the story, my dad got into the turbo S30 project and pirated it from me. i am now his advisor/turbo swap specialst/assistant mechanic it would seem. not my car basically. lol. the D-bag. tho with what i will be putting into the car, tho it'll be in his name, i will be able to use it as a weekend driver if fitting. sooooo, here is my dilema. the bike is painted and at about 13k miles, so i want to sell it while the miles arent radically high and its in perfect condition, basically while i can sell it for over 5k. cause next year it might not be possible. well after that sale, i'll have about 9k to blow. and i do not know why but i love S2000's. and the AP1 version can be had at 10k with decent miles in clean condition. and i think i want!!!! however, i feel i might miss the bike to much. what do you guys think? hmmmm... i think i will make a poll for this actually. |
get an s2k and soon after just get a cheaper, older bike with more character.
|
I agree with Kasbekz....get the S2000, sell the bike, and buy an older bike thats cool and distinctive, like a Ducati 996/748.
|
word! i was thinking more like a triumph Bonneville.
pero, i forgot to mention that the real best option is a z32 TT intead of that s2k. but the s2k is still pretty cool if you can bear to get the waves from the civic turds. |
I like the Triumphs too. Any older Euro bike would be cool...and you'd stick out from all the d-bag Jap-bike riding squids.
|
lol, well the Z32 will be worse to maintain than a much newer better built S2k. that is why i didn't include the Z32. and more expensive. with an S2k i wouldn't expect to have a problem with it for a long long time. with a Z32 you are supposed to have 1k saved for oops my car is a being a bitch today lol. same reason why i eliminated the RX-7. all the same price, very similar performance and nostalgia. just more practical. and OMG the interiors on them are freaking SEX!!!! but thanks guys. my biggest fear is insurance. haha.
|
pft... S2000... weak. My buddy modified his S2K and sold it shortly after because he hated it.
If you want a newer roadster / coupe, go with a BMW Z3 or Z4. And if you have $9k to blow, get a small loan and go with an ///M roadster. Bitz, pppplease! http://www.bmwroad.com/bmw_images/bmw_z4_m_roadster.jpg http://www.seriouswheels.com/pics-20...r-1280x960.jpg |
top gear's poll did vote the s2k as the most driver friendly car EVER.

i don't know. everyone i've talked to though says that they're very drivable.
|
"drivable" means what? That grandma can drive it just as well as a 16 year old?
S2K is the slowest out of Z4, Boxter, & S2K (tho only by fractions of a second): http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...9483378824563# |
and cheaper by how much? more upgradeable by how much? more reliable by how much?
drivable as in comfortable and forgiving. |
lol i HATE the boxster. and a bimmer doesn't fly with the parentals for some reason. they drink lots of hateraid when euro cars come up. haha. and im interested in checking out this honda reliability i hear of
as for top end power cars. yes and no. they do make power way up top, but also rev to 9k. lol. so they make up for it. also there is the AP1 and AP2. where as the AP1 (the one ill prob have) had the 2.0 liter motor that revved super high, good power, but a wacky torque curve. then the AP2 had the 2.2 liter, didn't rev as high, but smoother out the torque curve and made it respond more like a regular motor instead of more like a motorcycle. haha. fyi, bike just went up for sale. currently asking 6k obo. prob will have to settle around 5.5 but we will see. |
wow dude. you JUST got done saying a few weeks ago that you couldn't ever let it go!
|
pleasee....dont buy s2k..i know that would make you the classies person in IL but it comes at such a high cost: your balls
|
classiest person in IL huh? guess you never made it into the city. i have a feeling you are generalizing the honda name with that remark. honda makes great motors, just typically in stupid designs, but there were those great ones that came around, like the NSX and the S2000. and damn, ever see that 700whp s2k vid? stock motor trans and rear end. lol. that is crazy. and im interested in any better ideas tim. so far the boxster and Z4 were brought up, but... the boxster is for women, and the Z4 is for middle aged men. and also for the testing they were in very wet conditions, so not knowing what kind of tires were used and how close the times were, who really knows which car performs better as far as top gear aspects go.
and i know, but i thought about it, and though i love the bike, i dont want to ride it into the ground. i have been wanting to upgrade to a liter bike since mid last summer, so this year is do or die because next year, with the miles i ride a bike in the summer. itll be worthless lol. so selling it, then gathering my cash and deciding if i get a newer bike and DD or the S2k. the bike is getting sold tho unless i get shit money offers. then i'll ride it till it dies lol. or till next summer when i will have a career going |

Get the S2K and if you get tired of the F20 power see about a 2JZ. |
lol. i'd just turbo the F20 motor if that were the case. idk why but F series motors like boost.
also, tim, how DARE you say driving an S2K costs me my balls when you can't finish a turbo swap or properly build an L motor! you sir fail at being man in any way haha. |
buy the Honda :D
|
Get an evo!
|
i would, but evo's have NOT depreciated enough yet. and i will not be taking out any loans. i have plenty of time to take out loans when i am making bank as an air traffic controller. lol.
|
and how dare people comment and not vote. lol
also, bleach, do i sense sarcasm? |
I honestly think you should save up for an evo. My friends older brother had one and said he got bored with it within a month, and hes a hardcore honda guy.
|
why not resurrect your old FD idea? i think everyone can agree that an FD is a lot more fun and better than an s2000. a low enough mileage one will be very reliable as well.
|
no sarcasm. Honda S2000 isn't a bad car... its nice having a late model car as your daily driver.
The torque and low rpm responsiveness of the 350Z is hard to beat. Its really fun to drive even slowly around town. No revv-up required. I think you should try one, unless you really just hate how they look. |
no im impartial to the 350. and if i don't like it, i can always sell. and the FD i thought about, but it is a rotary turbo. so gas mileage will absolutely blow and they are very sensative engines. one time overheating usually results in blowing the apex seals. and one with low miles will be close to evo costs, which at that point i'd buy the evo lol.
|
Well get an n/a and plan on a swap. They seem to have finicky enouph engines that I'd consider another power plant if I had one.
|
The VQ35DE has proven to be a good reliable engine. Leave it stock and enjoy as is. You'll get 200,000 miles out of it.

if you're responding to me with that bleach, then know that i was still talking about the FD.

I drove an s2k rental car for a couple weeks and it was a decent little car for DD status, but for doing anything other then screwing around, you REALLY have to be up in the RPM range to actually do anything.

not, oh i rebuilt my motor, didn't watch the oil pressure and allowed my head gasket to blow. in all honesty, if you didn't have oil pressure, the engine might have overheated and warped your head. oil is number 1 engine cooling device FYI. even more so than the water plumbing in it. but there is also a good chance that you will spin a bearing down the road if you ran with no oil pressure. and i think im pretty set on the s2k, or even a 350Z for trade. tho looks wise the s2k appeals to me, its like a sexy miata haha, with a bit more hp. basically great to toss around and feel comfy in. http://www.streetfire.net/video/701w...ell_637353.htm damn to the F series motors enjoy boost. |
I did a really quick autotrader search around here. Used 350Z's and S2000s with roughly 40k miles on up...
S2000 costs more. $11,000 to $16,000 The 350Z can be had for $8,000 to $13,000 Strangely, the 350Z cost more new. I wonder if its the gas millage advantage of the Honda |
idk, well, it is also HIGHLY dependent on which year s2000. the 2004 and up are much more expensive than the 2000-2003, just for .2 liters more displacement. and i havent seen any 350z's in my area for a good price
just checked out a 2001 silver s2k with 48000 miles on it, for 9k. i like it, needs a new rear lower control arm tho, dude slid into a curb on a rainy day and its toed in like 8 degrees if i had to guess. but adjustable lower control arms are huge on the s2k's i guess. so meh! |
You should make a straight six out of two S2000 engines. Cut a cylinder off each one and weld them up.
|
what you should do is tell us what kind of car you got.
|
lol lol lol.... maybe i should.... maybe i shouldnt...
and some dude keeps emailing me wanting to buy my bike. he goes "hey dude really like the bike, i just got out of county so my funds are a little tight, i got 1300 and a 89 conversion van" i go noooo thats ok i got a vehicle and need money, much more. he responds "dude but this van got me n my cousin so much pussy, i'll even throw in nude pics of my ex-wife" im like, LMAO dude that's hysterical but i really cant take anything but cash offers.. he goes "naw naw i get it, but let me try one last time, i got a bunch of weed, im selling that and i'll have 2200 dollars, plus the 89 pussyvan and pics of my ex-wife and her chubby sister." this dude is kinda scaring me a lil, but it its sooooo funny at the same time. |
haha wow.
what, though, is the point of keeping the new car a secret? have you not sealed the deal yet? did you get a civic and you're embarrassed? |
lol, deal is basically sealed, just need a new lower toe control arm and the guys friends has one for him but he didn't get it from him today like he promised... so no point in picking if up to go back out there....
|
sweet. a tweaked frame and fix it with adjustable suspension so it tracks straight. :D hehe
Tell the guy to sell his van, pics, and weed and come back with all CASH! |
I did LOL. But that van prob isn't worth crap
And no tweaked frame the damage is no where near that bad. I know better than that |
