I've been thinking, some of the Devil's Z's backstory seem to take inspiration from Stephen King's "Christine". Like, how Akio becomes obsessed with it at first glance, even though it was in junked condition when he found it. And then he starts spending all his time working on it (haha, or that's just the nature of being a car guy) and how he refers to the Z like a girl and that they care for each other. But also how the previous owner died in it, and it always seems to recover from damage it takes.

The eerie soundtrack, with the piano music, is a nice touch too.

Man I love anime, it's all I ever watch anymore. Stories and topics are so much better than what American TV has nowadays. Since initial D there really hasn't been a good car themed anime so I have high hopes for this one.

 

July 20th is the air date for the next two episodes.

If you really are looking for a good racing anime, I'd recommend Capeta. It's about this kid who starts out racing go karts and keeps moving on with his dream to slowly move up through the ranks and battle his rival. It leads up to F1 racing. It's actually really good, so I'd say check it out.

DAMNIT!!!! i need sub titles, these episodes arent like the earlier ones where its buy parts build car race car crash car and repeat.... now there is like deep plot and i cant under stand a damn word other than, Z, akio, check, and ok..... and its only cause i know zeta is Z and akio is his name and they say check and ok in english. lol... oh and drive. mee needy sub titles!!! when are they going to recieve subtitles???F?
