I voted for the first time yesterday.
I'm glad i finally did. It took me a long time to appreciate the fact that I can now vote. Sometimes it's overshadowed how important voting is. I'm happy I voted.

I always say ....... "I can complain" because I voted. When I hear others complain about our messed up government, my first question is "did you vote?" Obviously close to 50% don't vote

I voted for the 1st time also yesterday. I pretty much knew my vote for the presidency wouldn't matter since CA is such a liberal state. I was more concerned with the propositions and local measures. I'm glad that Kerry finally conceeded. I was concerned that we weren't going to know who the president is until next year.

There were a couple disappointing things I heard......1) They ran out of ballots in Sacramento, so they had to tell vters to go to another polling facility. This was happening about 30 minutes before the polls closed. How can they run out of ballots??? They knew that there was likely going to be a record turnout. I think better preparation would've been a good idea.

2) Some people waiting in line for like 10 hours to cast their vote in Ohio. That's nuts. I know I wouldn't have waited and I bet others feel the same way. I'm sure it discouraged some people from voting. They need to be better prepared.

I agree they had over 1.5 million new voters this year. You would think they would have planned for that. When i voted I oly had to wait 5 minutes. I am also glad Kerry did not drag this out in the courts for years. This is the first time i have voted and I was very glad i did. It does give you some control over the outcome of things. And the satisfaction that you made a difference.
