Tested Your Net Speed Lately?
Ah... they likely pushed a firmware update onto your router. Apparently it's a good idea to cycle the power (off/on) every few months because they will send out updates & it will only take the update on the next power up.
So I recently moved, and I'm getting my home network / wiring setup... yay for new connection!

EDIT... Comcast test (obviously "faster")

having major problems, less than half than what i used to get, theres serious line quality problems where i am at currently but i'll try the new place tommorow, moving back to where i used to live and it was much better.
kinda ghetto area now, they didnt bulid the node to handle alot of people since they didnt plan on the ghetto getting any thing other than cheap slow dsl.
also thinking of moving to a docsis 3.0 modem since charter has now made it that you HAVE to have 2.0 to use their services.....so i am no longer using the better protocol than every one else......IPv6 is a good thing

Well here's mine still running the same computer since the last test in 2007.
Also wanted to note...That I am multitasking; with my Itunes playing surfing the web, and loading my ipod all at the same time.

Also, are you renting a modem from them, or do you have your own? They phase out modems all the freaking time, so if yours is more than a couple years old, it might need to be replaced (I faced this issue w/ my Linksys WCG200 a few years ago).
at work...

Pretty crappy but I think it's because it's a T1 connection that is using cat-5
strung across the states to Ohio with multiple wire splices along the way...
at home I get

Someday I will have internet at home again

Have you called Comcast tech support? Usually they can tell you over the phone whether its your cable line or modem. If you pay for line insurance (~$.99/mo) they will come out for free and do a complete diagnostic.

Milk that!zxguy, Do you have the "triple play"? $185 is steep! My Comcast internet and HD tv package is $82/mo. I use MagicJack+ for my home phone. I'm cancelling Comcast in Dec when my contract is up. I now have fiber in my neighborhood.

Been a while since I've tested...
