Tank engine in a Mustang

This was sent to me over the weekend...car of a friend of a friend of a friend's dogs old boyfriends cousin...
Yep that means I dont know him from Adam...Cool stuff though

The engine is a GAA Tank Engine, one of the engines used in Sherman Tanks during WW2...Apparently it was a Rolls Royce Merlin engine with 4 cylinders lopped off...cant confirm that though.
Its All Aluminium, 1100CI rated at 500HP and 1050 Ft Lb torque standard.
60 degree V, 5.6 bore x 6 stroke, shaft driven DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder and 180 degree crank
Stock weight 1400Lbs with all accessories. As per installation shown its about 960.
Apparently the guy expects that with some work and twin massive turbos that he could push it up around the 3000HP mark...who knows but FARK.
Heres the same guy starting a different engine on the stand

The Mustang is a 70 model...The engine has just been polished, not painted

wow, thats crazy, ok now who wants to put one in a Z? Get me the engine and I'll volunteer my 280zx! Only thing I dont like is the rough sounding idle, but then again it might not be that bad for it's age because it's such an old engine

Yeah But Think About The Torque.... Its For Only The Drag Of Course. If Its A Diesel Like It Should Be It Gets About 2 Miles A Gallon. So Just Trailer It And Then Good To Go...

Oh, should have mentioned...its a petrol engine. Cut down aero engine basically.

If he gets 3000HP out of it then it wont just be huge and heavy

I just checked back on the email. He mentions that his fuel cells are going to hold 24 gallons of alcohol...
The merlin runs on AvGas rather than JP-8

Well any engine that was designed in the 30s is going to run on that sort of fuel. They are making new light engines to run on JP-8 slowly and retrofitting some but it wont be standard outside of the military for many years I wouldnt think

I would love to see that car rip down the strip. Totally insane. A wee bit of torque you might think. By the way the car is a 1969 Fastback. Unless he modded the front clip to fit a 70. No matter anyhow.
