Are slick tops collectable? or just base models that no one wants?

To some extent both. They were originally the cheap, base model. They are very slightly lighter and since they are unusual maybe desirable.

If I was picking out a collectors item it would be a twin turbo and they were all t tops in the US.

It really depends on which chassis you are talking about... S130? Z31? Z32?
