I think your pretty much right. The parts store had a socket that fits near perfect but its still a little off. And Im not sure what I should use. I need something really strong that will never rust. The Torx Fasteners themselves are stainless so there not rusted, so I may use them again. but I need new nuts/washers. I heard that stainless should not be married with aluminum because when put together they rust quickly. Is this true?

aluminum doesn't rust, it corrodes in a way, and SS doesn't rust either...
Is there something that I'm missing?
I don't think that if they are combined(Al, and SS), that they would create a "rusting" condition.

tarnish. they are tarnished like jewelery, old metal tarnishes, its hard stuff to clean off. electrical bath

that socket is a reverse torx, you can buy them at the parts stores. take the bolt with you, they are commonly used on chevy seats, 2000 and up, maybe earlier

...No, but they will corrode in a nasty way if they touch each other. It's a form of electrolosis.

I was wondering because, when you strengthen steel, one of the bits you add is aluminum...
