plasma cutter
any one here use a plasma cutter for work or play? Im in the market for one right now. Ive got some cars I am going to be chopping for a small exporting company and need a plasma cutter. need some advice for the purchase of a cheap plasma cutter that gets the job done and will cut through anything that a car can throw at me. :armata_PDT_35:
Some Ideas on some different brands and models would be cool from the experienced ones. I need one by next week and I find myself staring at spec sheets not really sure what it all means. Im on a budget. The exporter that I am working for is not covering the tool since I am working as a private contract for him and I bid on the job. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again! |
"Cheap" and "Plasma Cutter" don't go well together. :D
A good one will run you several thousand dollars new. Search your local classifieds for a used one if you can't afford $2k-3k. I would stick to name brands... Lincoln, Miller, Hobart, etc. |

I wound up getting a 60amp longevity plasma cutter. The plasma cutter only cost me 650.00 shipped to the door. Its not a name brand but it did come with a 5 year warranty + for the price, I can pick up 3 more to back it up. So far it has been working great with not complaints. My job ends in 2 weeks and I may not use the plasma cutter again. But for the job, im glad I did not spend an arm an a leg for it. Here is the plasma cutter that I got: http://www.longevity-inc.com/product...Cut-LP-60D.php Thanks again for the feedback. Using a plasma cutter sure is a blast though! Sure does beat a chop saw! :s-chainsaw: |
