The Z is probably going to be more reliable than anything other than a brand new car anyway. You need to get your dad on here to listen to those who know. I have no concerns with taking my 26 year old 280ZX on a cross country trip on no notice. I would hop in it right now, fire it up and drive. I can't say the same thing for my 2005 PT Cruiser... or 100K Porsche. Either of those cars would have to be "inspected" before making such a trip. My Z went to Florida and back at a Hellacious pace with zero issues.

Rod.

I was actually gonna buy one myself. But I cant cause their old and unreliable! which is the whole point of the Z selling. I told him Im gonna drift it cause thats what he said he was gonna do it when he bought it for himself then later gave it to me (I then told him if he wanted to drift he should bought a 240sx, which I love!). Oh and I want the RSX-S, not my Dad, he wants the VW and he might not get me the RSX anyway. And even if I did get a RSX I cant do anything thatll void the warranty so no engine work which means Ill be driving same RSX as 234,869 other ppl. Whatever though it's not in my hands anymore, I gotta move out soon!
a b16 isnt 200hp a type r is 200hp quarter mile 14.7, b16 in a 92-95 hatch 15.2 at best, a b16 in a crx barely hits in the 14s. rsx types is pretty much as fast as a type r. but what the hell do i know. get a supra lol.... however my buddy did have a b16 in a hatch that hit a 13.6 all motor but the car was stripped of everything possible and the engine had endless amounts of electronics and upgrades, throttle body swap, cams, gears, pullys, intake manifold, headers, exhaust, vtech controller, blah blah blah ect. ect.

Well dude. Another way your dad can see it is that you own an increasingly rare model of car and it could be worth good money when you finish it, even though you probably wouldn't sell it, but I'm kinda the same way. I just sold my 300zx and got a 280zx. It's not everyday you see a 280zx, 300zx, or any other Z car on the street.

to clarify, the RSX was the base 2006 model, brand new, completely stock, and the 280zx was bone stock, complete with idling problems, terribly in need of valve adjustment, leaky injectors, and for the coup de grace, corroded plug wires that were only sparking to 4 cylinders, and intermittent spark to the other two. Both guys know how to race their cars, and the 280zx took the RSX hands down.

Yeah thanx for the kind words guys. Well I do plan on keeping the 280zx no matter what! I talked to my dad and convinced him to at least let me keep it! Yeah and a thing that I just love about my car is that I am the only one of my friends who has such a rare and badass, old skool JDM, car! They all have hondas lol (fast ones tho!) So yeah dont worry guys Im gonna keep that car no matter what! (unless it craps out or if it gets into a accidentand is totaled!)
