The yellow one is what we call a rust bucket.

wow... hardly good for parts, but with an auto and no engine, you will barely get one bucket worth of good parts. :)

the wheels would fill up a bucket :037:

im going to see if i can get both for $100, they wanted them each for $200, if i can ill see what i can do about the rust on the blue one and get the interior and SOME (the hood was good lol) of the pannels off of the yellow one...

or i might just no do any of that and hope i find another for sale :012:

280zx2by2 03-22-2009 01:58 PM

Does anyone know where i can find a 280z wireing harness (i basiclly need every wire because of damn dirty rats)

a quick look at my black dragon mag and a search of MSA gave no results...

***(EDIT) found them at ZCarsource, $250 a pop for the dash, engine and body harnesses http://www.zcarsource.com/Electrical...er-8-7658.html wow...

hoov100 03-22-2009 02:56 PM

how much money do you have to spend?

snwbrderphat540 03-22-2009 03:07 PM

lol.... totally not worth it. i got a 280z in slightly better condition that those with no motor and trans a fine harness just same amount of rust and manual for free.... i stripped what was good and scrapped it. there's no point with those Z's unless you can do a damn good fab/weld job yourself

ZLover4Life 03-22-2009 03:12 PM

Where are you looking for these cars? New Orleans?

1k my ass, you have more than 1k of metal to replace there if you have someone do it for you, if not, then you have more than 1k of welding equipment and material/supplies to buy with it. those motors might be locked up they have been sitting so long, the suspension is probably shot, who knows the condition of the other driveline parts, buddy, thats at least a 3k project to get it in a decent condition. better off spending 2k on something that already runs and just needs labor put into it with minor amounts of supplies/materials/parts

my friend (hawtsauce280z) his dad owns a auto body shop, he would probly put me in some new sheet metal on the floors, the hatch, and around the battery tray area for $500, $200 on a zx long block from the jyard, $250 on some carbs and a old 240z points ignition, $250 on a dash harness and $500 for misc. yeah your about right...

hoov100 03-22-2009 03:53 PM

lol you do know that the blue car was like 3 houses down from me or was that what you meant?

either way i understand what your saying...

hoov100 03-22-2009 04:21 PM

it goes both ways (like snw) but you just arent putting enough effort into it, if you are serious about getting an s30, you need to farther away, but about 350 miles is about the farthest i would personally go, before i would consider using a shipping company.

i just hate to buy a car then get it home and discover all these things that are wrong with it, i guess you get that with any used car purchase...

SportBikeMike 03-22-2009 04:32 PM

My S30 was about 1500 mikes away.....

You're lucky you live in the South, not the Midwest.....

280zx2by2 03-22-2009 04:38 PM

mabe i need to get a house and a garage first lol... i just wanted something cheap to work on when i have nothing to do

i think that the blue car is what im looking for... its got a motor, some interior, no frame damage...
