I6 maxima engine question (gasser)

i couldnt find this on maxima.org for some reason but i thought i would ask here

the L24e used in the maximas, are they a smaller bore and/or a shorter stroke than the L28?

i know the block is basicly the same aside from very minor things like dipstick location and what not but i cant remember if it was both smaller and shorter bore and stroke or just one of those 2.

the z engines started out with the L24 and did longer stoke and bigger bore through out the years to wind up at 2.8 right?

some thing in my mind tells me that it was different on the l24e and i cant figure it out

http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/enginedesign/

L24 = 2.4L 83mm bore
L28 = 2.8L 86mm bore

The smaller the number, the smaller the liter, which = smaller bore.

yes i know that the number designates displacment.

i still think theres something still a bit different about the bore or stroke of an L24e in a rwd maxima
it'd be interesting if it had an L28 bore but a shortened stroke for make up for the difference of the .4L i bet it'd be alot smoother that way, mabe a bit more revvy

but the seccond half those aussies are helpful for, i couldnt remember when going to the L26 if it was a bigger bore or longer stroke.

an L24 is an L24. The Maxima has an L24 like the 240Z

Notice on that link I posted... right below the BLOCK drop down selection...

Select your block:
L24 height = 207.85
L28 height = 207.85

Crank stroke:
L24 = 73.7
L28 = 79

I HIGHLY doubt Nissan made "special" internals for one block. Bleach is right... an L24 is an L24. :D

one transfer case swap and it'll be on the market....assuming its a good transfer case (at 77k/mi i should be good).

mabe we should start a service manual swap some place, i've got like 2 '79 280zx FSM, an '84 PickUp 1st rev. FSM, '87 Maxima FSM and 200sx (RWD style) FSM some place
