I bought a new Z

White for some reason. And my first T-top car.

Oh yeah, it's a 2+2

With a single exhaust.

It has already had a TT swap performed. I mainly bought the car for the TT motor. It's going into the car in the background of the first pic. What do you think about this turbo set-up? :D

bastard.....

oh and its really dirty lol. other than that the top/front mount turbo location doesnt seem like it'll work to hot not much room to plumb them up there. other than that cool as hell

Is it me, or maybe it's the picture, but that engine looks like it's actually leaning on a slant? Is the engine even all hooked up and running?

CanyonCarver 07-24-2008 11:36 AM

It may look to be on a slant because the previous owner cut out the radiator support to clear the turbo. You can see where the support was cut where the hood pin for the fiberglass hood is located. The motor was running. The guy was waiting for new 555cc injectors when he decided that he had to sell it.

Not bad for $500 tho. :D

Oh yeah, the radiator is angled forward at an approximate 45* angle.

snwbrderphat540 07-24-2008 11:46 AM

lol for clearance or for like a V mount look.... lets just say in a TT application thats a terrible place for the turbo's.... shoulda mounted them up where the SMIC's went and just did a custom front mount setup if he wanted the extended header performance and the ability to run massive turbo's

I've had a few offers for it already. The body and interior are pretty rough. For the $500 I paid, I can leave it set. Kind of thinking of gutting, stripping it and making it a track car. That'll have to wait till I finish the current track car project.

I do have a 75 (or so) Datsun p/u and a volkswagon bug that I need gone. :D

can i have the massive turbos then lol

I've already been offered $500 for the one turbo and the exhaust manifolds. This T88 is way too big for a 3.0 liter. It needs a T3/4 sized turbo.

snwbrderphat540 07-26-2008 10:50 PM

wait... was it going to be a single turbo setup or is there two of those biotches?

The guy I bought the car from did a TT swap a couple of years ago. When his oem turbos died, he went and built this single T88 turbo setup. After getting it running, he subsequently damaged the motor due to the fact that he didn't do any real tuning for the big turbo. He then went through and rebuilt the motor, did some dyno tuning, and drove it around and took it to the 1/8 track every once in a while. He was in the process of doing more upgrades when the time came to sell. Everything is set-up for the newer 555cc injectors including a newly chipped ecu. It just needs the injectors. I also got two FMIC's in the deal. Neither has been mounted in the car, so I figure it was in his plans along with the injectors.

The motor is slated to go into my kids' car as a TT. The stock TT manifolds came with the car. The motor will get a teardown and inspection and at least new bearings and rings. We are currently shopping deals on turbos, DP's and injectors.

The T88 will be sold with or without the custom manifolds.
