You're a better man than I. I've been twisted into this over the years. I simply just don't care anymore. It's wrong, I know, but it makes me happy there is one less idiot among us. Cruel, maybe. Call it, Darwinian morality lol.

Clearly this suicidal woman had a chemical imbalance in her brain... thus, chemistry.

It's times like this that I think it'd be cool if I believed in an afterlife... then she could be watching Earth and going "damn, it wasn't the end of the world... maybe I shouldn't have killed myself."

Unless they were going to a magical land where beer is free-flowing bodies like lakes and rivers and mountains were made of solid cookie, and sex was free and abundantly available! Like the 60's on LSD.

Does that include Hitler? Suicide or life of prison assraping... I think he'd be more likely to regret earlier choices that lead to suicide, than the suicide itself.

And what about kamikaze and suicide bombers, who believe they are doing the right thing?

yeah i got cut short when i was writing that post. i was about to say something about inevitable circumstances that would cause someone to prefer to kill themselves, but i was being rushed out.

Or just regret failing? lol

Kamikaze pilots are fanatics, like islamic terrorists. I think the only one ones who would regret it are the ones who didn't kill enough before dying ^_^.

Interesting story behind "Kamikaze" too.

lol

I wouldn't compare kamikaze pilots to terrorists though, for one crucial reason. Kamikaze take out soldiers during war (or at least military battles). Terrorists take out civilians. As a result, I'd rank kamikaze a little bit higher than terrorists, who are essentially the scum of the Earth.

here's another one: it seems pretty easy, but none of my answers are working

(245g)(44.7m/s)squared
over
2

answer must be in grams times meters squared over seconds squared

When you do this math, are you squaring 44.7 FIRST, then multiplying by 245 and dividing by 2? Because it's (44.7m/s)^2, not 44.7m^2/s^2. And order of operations is Parenthesis/Exponents/Multiplication and Division/Addition and Subtraction, if you don't remember.

Maple says:

2.44766*10^5gm^2/s^2
2.44766E5gm^2/s^2

I don't know how many decimals you need, so cut off decimals accordingly.

And the problems you're having are why I tried convincing St. Xavier University to get rid of the online quizzes. It's just professors being lazy. Every student I had came to me with issues at one point or another because the thing was too picky. Before I left there, I convinced them to at least take handwritten answers as an addendum to the online forms. This way, problems that showed up wrong on quizzes (which you couldn't correct) could be adjusted for by the professor if the answer was, in fact, right.

ahhh i'm an idiot. i forgot that i had already asked that and had it answered. thanks for explaining it though. i see what i was doing wrong. i was doing what you said. but either way, square 44.7 first, then multiply by 245, then divide, and multiplying 44.7 by 245 then squaring and dividing are both giving me bad answers. which way did you do? divide first?

Multiply and divide are inverses of each other, so they can be done in any order.

(a*b)/c = (a/c)*b = a*(b/c)

But you MUST do that exponent first because it comes before multiplication/division.

44.7^2 = 1998.09

Then you can take that and do any of these:

(245*1998.09)/2 = 489532.05/2 = 244766.025
245*(1998.09/2) = 245*999.045 = 244766.025
(245/2)*1998.09 = 122.5*1998.09 = 244766.025

That might be a better way of entering than scientific notation, by the way. Just try the answer 244766.025 if scientific notation doesn't work.

kas you really should try reviewing your order of operations befor continuing too much further lol.
and i have that same problem with my online homework i had 30% taken off one of my problem because a vector i drew on the screen wasnt exactily through the middle and so i had to re do it.
my entire class has just about gotten my teacher to do her ****in job and assign hw out of the book and grade it herself and not be so lazy.

sometimes i really hate technology.
