Both my dvd-rom and dvd-r/rw drive wont read anything. Ive rebooted and tried the lame trouble shooting guide but nothing works. I've never been very good with computers, so any help would be great.

 

May want to take off the side panel and see if the data cable is still connected to them and to the motherboard. It's kinda like a thin, wide cable that sort of resembles duct tape (sorta). If the drives are both connected to the single data cable, then it coming loose would make them not read, but the lights and all would still work...

 

Its always the most simple, over looked solution. Thanks Carl, that worked.
