Hello! '80 280zx here!

Hi everyone!

New to the forum, tho I have been lurking a bit in the last few weeks. Finally decided I should register and start posting! I am in Albuquerque, NM, and together with my husband am restoring and reworking a 1966 VW Beetle (wrong forum for that!) and my ZX. A little history on the Z:

I bought my 1980 280zx in 2004 from a lady who had inherited it from her dad and had let it sit in her driveway for about 8 years. She had let her daughter drive it during highschool; apparently the daughter knew less than 0 about maintaining the car, because she replaced the antifreeze gradually with plain water, popping a freeze plug and ruining the entire cooling system, which parked the car.

When I got it, I drove it for a couple of years after I got it running and driving. It ran well for a long time, until it dropped gas mileage suddenly. At that time I had too many other things going on to work on it, so it sat for a few years. Finally last year I could afford to resurrect the ZX, so I had the engine rebuilt. Then, about 3 months ago I realized how much I miss driving my Z car, so my husband and I started going crazy doing research and figuring out how to make it reliable and comfortable.

The Zx has come a long way from when I saw it all sad and dejected in someone's driveway with three flat tires and a shredded interior. Our current project involves figuring out some mechanical engine issues that I plan on posting on in the s130 forum at some point, replacing stock suspension with Tokico Blues (waiting for all the parts to come in!), redoing my brakes, and overhauling the interior, along with quite a bit of customization on the interior.

I will post some pics later when I get around to it. I think I have probably been long-winded enough for an introduction!
