how much does fuel line damage cost to repair?

Hi, I just bought a 1995 300zx N/A. It runs great, but has a strong gasoline smell. The previous owner said that it would happen to him when the gas was low. I think it might be a fuel line leak or something with the fuel injectors. I don't think it was enough to warrant not buying the car(it's in overall good condition), but i'm concerned that taking it to a Z specialized mechanic will cost me too much. I'm expecting repairs to cost around $350-450. Is that reasonable? I appreciate constructive answers

It depends on which fuel line is leaking. Most of the time you just have to tighten down the hose clamps, other times if someone didn't use actual fuel injection hose the hose will need replaced. It all depends on which one is leaking. You should find out which one before doing anything.

I had that same problem and come to find out it was one of the fuel line and a injector leaking on the inside so i had to replace all of them plus redue the fuel lines also seriously u should take the time out and look at that before the car catches on fire before it's to late good luck and god bless.

fixed, but new gas problem...

thanks for the advice. I took it to my regular mechanic and we found out that the previous owner had drilled holes into the gas tank because he had placed an amplifier behind the passenger seat That was fixed by using JD Weld. I'm still getting a gas smell, but this is coming from the gas cap area. When I open the gas cap, there's a whooosh of pressure for a minute. I took it to a Z-car mechanic and he said it now could be the evaporator. Any ideas on how much should the evaporator work cost? Don't want to get hosed... Love driving my 95 300zx, but it's getting frustrating...
