1978 Black Pearl Special Edition 280Z restore project. $1500 firm.
I've put a thousand or two into it already, mostly to get it running better, but I just don't have the time to continue the project. Paid $2,100 for it.
Here's the lowdown:
Car is currently painted white - yay for stupid people, and will need to be painted back to black.
Good body - medium-small rust hole behind passenger side wheel - hatch needs rust attention, but the rest is solid.
Needs a new carpet kit eventually - this one faded in the back and around the edges. It's a 4-speed - I can give you the number of the man who has the original 5-speed.
KYB shocks & Tokico springs, adjustable aluminum camber bushings front & rear (car handles like it's on rails) - new rack & pinion bushings, new shift boot & inner rubber boot as well as shifter bushings, Accel sparkplug wires, ngk sparkplugs, msd coil, rikken honeycomb rims 205x60x14 (previous owner curbed the fronts a bit), almost brand new tires (yokohama avid s/t's), almost perfect center console - dash has a few cracks in it, all gauges work, new cooling system (yes, SYSTEM - aka radiator, hoses, heater cock (not installed), comes with new heater core not installed (used working core installed) etc..), blower motor needs to be re-installed, new starter, Timing chain, guides, & sprockets replaced, engine valve stem seals replaced, etc.. Partially polished valve cover. New manifold gasket, new front timing cover gaskets. Comes with 2 extra seats, 2 extra center consoles, extra dash, original factory A/C pump, lots of extras - tons of interior. Extra set of wheels if interested.
Engine smokes a little - burns a little oil, typical for a 30 year old engine.
Compression is good, leakdown test is good, timing is set.
Runs excelent except for the smoking, drives excelent. Solid as a rock on the freeway.
