Newbie saying Hi

Just introducing myself. Name's Tim & I just scored a silver slicktop 2 Seater with full veilside body kit (wasn't particularly after the kit). Seller has only had it a very short time when he lost interest due to needing a family car. Old guy owned it prior who bought it off a mechanic who rebuilt engine. Turbos are in good nick same as the auto trans. Very good bodywork & interior.

I had been looking @ a few, particularly the slicktops, over the past few months & today I decided to end the ridiculous project I had already started on which was just a money pit. Workshop raped it & just gave me frustration no end. So, next chapter begins!

First impressions after driving 3hrs to bring her home = very impressed She purred like a kitten for most the trip. I couldn't fault anything in the handling department. Nice & tight. Smooth, nice engine rumble. Definitely needs a good tune though. Been sitting for 4 months. The auto is the only thing that may need attention. Bit slow to change up gears. Very responsive too but bit ordinary past the mid-range.

She's had a recent respray too & onlt the bonnet needs attention due to bubbles (silicone/armorall prob it looks like). Straight body & very clean interior. The veilside is plastic too not f/glass so it's light & less likely to dent the guards. That is a plus to me. Also, the car hasn't been lowered so even with the kit, it still doesn't scrape. Took it through a parking lot with dips & stuff & it never bottomed out. Phew

Pics tomorrow after lunch when I get home.

Cheers guys!

Here's a quick few pics with wing removed. It did mark the smaller wing that sat under the huge one. Just taped up the bolt holes @ side for now.

Looks a little weird but I feel better

Since found out it has an aftermarket trans cooler after noticing the oil lines on the radiator are not connected & also a huge fan or the orig' one has been converted to manual operation via a toggle switch under steering column.
