how fast is your zed???
 

I'm interested in which aussie cars some of you guy's have run against in your zeds? Don't forget to mention how modified your motor is if you add to this thread. I know zpeed has no problems against 6 pot auto VS commodores with loud stereos or where they 8's??? Nathan u tried any others since u put that new fuel pump in?

Pulsar ET Turbo, beat him with a boot + backseat full of stuff and a passenger... ET had one passenger ... got him buy 1 1/2 car lengths....

Car: Stuffed Clutch, Bent Valves, Out of Tune 240Z SU's, mild cam.


But on the other hand i was out by myself one night and got whooped big time by an ET with an Upgraded turbo .. and i mean whooped

ET's that are stock are crap, modified ones, espcially one around our area number plate FORCED is hardcore...

ummm a moddified VL turbo blew me the other day...

ummm i've raced up to a commo VS auto, and beat them, VN 5spds are hard to beat i havn't raced my mate yet, gotta get new gasket in.... i am dead even with my mate with a S13 5spd ca18det turbo silvia, but that was running 0.7psi of fuel now with new fuel pump i dunno, will see once i get a new exhaust gasket..

also raced a pintara, blew that, mostly all ford 6s beat them, dunno about XR6s, was playing with a VN SS auto 5ltr, rolling start from 60 or so, he had me by 1 car length at 90, then stoped cause a round-a-bout.... will race a few more cars this week and next weekend, will be going on a hunt... hehe... maybe sulio if you get ur car roadworthied, we can have a bash around.. up to u... hehe...

so far i have beat any 6cyl stock car.......i got smoked by a 305 cobra mustang he had exhauset 1000 dollar intake and headers and new injectors......lol..............but i held up good......

Yeah Nathan lookin forward to it, really will be fun but my cars still got to go into the paint shop and i want it all finished when i go to reg it so hopefully in another 4 to 6 weeks ey! Very eager to get it on the road though.

well my car is at the paint shop atm .. .getting new clutch, flywheel lightended, the valves have been fixed, carbs are continuing to be tuned in a few minutes, so the cam will be running properly :)

hopefully high 14.... theoretically i should be able to pull on V8's

just a not the brand new 2002 XR8 still uses an old crappy pushrod 302 windsor !! so try them ...

part i highly reccomend getting is a camshaft though ... mild cams transform the car !!

but its best to change to a L28 first then cam it and all that..

unless u like the L26, i kinda like it now.. dunno why... i might get a cam for mine... not sure of the price thou

well the 2002 XR8 only pulls like 15.2 in the quater,so its crap, even thou its got like 250kw or something weighs like 1700kg..

L28's are crap as if you would put one of those slow revving things in place of a nice short stroke L24 or L26 !!!

hehe-not gonna bag anyone i don't know but...hehe...hey loki how much did it cost for your new cam? did u do much head work? if so, what did that set u back? how high should healthy commpression be in a L26?

160-170. mines rebuilt i should know.. as long as its all the same u have no problem

bought the car with teh cam in it :) owner didnt know it had one :)

head work and cam all done together around $500

safe compression .. um heard about 10:1 i think

u can shave a few mill off the bottom of the head and run .8mm head gasket or some thing simular to do it ..

I've never really raced anyone seriously, just some kids in one of those small land rovers, needless to say i beat them. Can't wait to I put the RB26DETT in and start eating porsche's.

The 1st thing i'm gonna race will be my mates 2001 XR8 ute. After the spray job gotta focus on gettin it running real nice just to see his face after a 30 yo datti kicks his ass. Anyone lined up anything similar yet?

what is a good, streetable cam, and how much would it cost? Is it worth it? (after I fix the body, i'll be looking for some more power ;)

The mildest cams are the most streetable, but also give the least amount of power increase.

Check out Crow & Crane cams web sites for basic info. Speak to Peter Hall for been-there-done-that help. Actually, go pay him a visit, Lobethal is a great drive through the hills.

just get your cam growned for $80 but u have to tell them what numbers you want
