Re: Articles for Z Driver
Well it wont be done as quick as you did your RB25DET conversion was done ;-)
Actually, I rang up a guy and he said he can do me an ECU, loom and igniter (which is everything needed to get it going) for $600. I reckon I might go this route as I dont have the $$/time to go the aftermarket ECU route at the moment. The only need to go aftermarket is if I am going bigger turbo etc, and If I go bigger turbo I need to go bigger injectors, rail etc etc and there is noway in hell I have the money for all that at the moment. I can get an easy 280rwhp from the standard ECU and possibly even more. This will do me for a while I think. After I do go aftermarket ECU in a couple of years or more, I can always sell the ol 1JZ ECU etc to someone else. 1976 260Z with 1JZGTE...[censored] the purists |
engine conversions
Hi all,
kalium>> if you went bigger turbo, you don't necessarily have to go bigger injectors!!! it depends on the current duty cycle that the injectors are currently working at (ie if you are nearly maxing out their limit) But you would need to remap the fuel and ignition to get better performance and proper air/fuel ratios etc. loki>> have you done your RB25DET conversion already??? I would be keen to see some pics of it or even pics of any progress that you have done. Im gathering pics and info on owners that have done/are doing and RB##DE, RB##DET or RB##DETT into a Z for a future RBZ web site. Please email me any RBZ pics at nguyenxcuong@hotmail.com if you are still going ahead with the RB25DET. Re: engine conversions
True, but if your spending the money on upgrading to a single turbo, then I would want the sort of power that my standard injectors couldnt cope with ;)
