why not do it urself

hey man, i think you've ogt the same idea as me, putting a 240sx throttle body on your z31, i've got an 84 NA, what's yours?

I don't know where you can get 240sx stuff in Oz, but i was gonna get a bigger throttle body than a stock Z31, ans simply make an adapter plate to fit to the intake collector and grind out the inside of where the throttle body meets the intake collector for smooth airflow. so why not do that urself?
hope this helps

I'm currently installing a 68mm TB from the XD/XF Falcon, bolt pattern is almost identicle although i got a plate welded on. Havent got it installed yet, but I'm mechanically retarded and its seems pretty basic to me, so someone with a bit of knowledge should be able to do it in an afternoon.

The 2 holes on the AFM side of the TB need to be blocked or used - i'm using my for vacuum hoses. You will also need to make up throttle linkage and bypass your Air Regulator (i think), errr you will also need to join the water hoses that go through the stock TB and remove the idle adjuster on some models (the XF TB comes with idle adjustment).

Oh yer and dont forget TPS, replace your AFM with something bigger, since thats the next bottleneck, and make sure you port your intake RIGHT out, mines somewhere between 62 and 65mm.

hope this helps

Later edit: i just realised you guys are talkin about z31 lol, that intakes from an L28. Still, the XF TB might work

I installed a 240SX TB on my Z31 when I owned it 5+ years ago. The 240SX TB is 60mm. I believe the stock Z31 is 52mm. It was a direct bolt-on fit. There was an extra vacuum line on the 240SX TB; which needed to be plugged. You also had to grind out the inside of the plenum so that it would increase the airflow capabilities of your Z31 plenum. I had an '85NA, so the HP gains were minimal, but it did seeme to make a difference.

You can probably get a TB from an auto-wrecker or salvage yard.

My Buddy made an adapter , so he can use the throttle body of a big block Chevy.
I believe these are 70MM bodies. He does have to port the intake to make it flow better.

What year 240SX do you pull it off of for an L28?
