It's a brand new car. It shouldn't be burning or leaking any oil...or at least a very minimal amount. It's a good thing that you don't have to top it off. And don't be worried about sounding like a rookie, we all have at one time, right?

basically, a car shouldn't be leaking oil. All cars tend to burn a little oil, which isn't too bad. Some less than others. I know my Z doesn't burn hardly any oil and your 350 should burn nearly none. They're just better designed engines IMO.

I only add about 1 quart of oil per 3000-5000 miles. I agree, you've got a brand new car, so oil burning and leaking is a non-issue.

Yea, so? I still have the original oil filter too. Am I supposed to change those? J/K I try to change the oil every 3k, but sometimes it goes to 5k. It depends on how busy I am. I usually have to add 1 quart between oil changes. I'm almost insulted you asked.

well, when you say that you add oil every 3000 to 5000 mi, what am I supposed to assume? I couldn't believe it when I read it, but I had my doubts for a sec.
