I just picked up my first sports car (2003 350z enthusiast 68k miles) and so far I love it, The car has a stillen dual exhaust and sounds great but I am having trouble getting the car to launch smooth and steady, but once I get it going I am fine with shifting through the gears, This is my first manual car so I know there is a learning curve I am worried that I am riding the clutch to much and burning it out I try to rev in between 1500- 2000rpm and start to let off the clutch, some advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance

Congratulations on the purchase od your 350Z, and I bet it sounds gorgeous with the stillen, all you could do with now is a JWT Popcharger, just to add to that induction roar. The clutch on the 350 was notorious for being a bit jerky when trying to go for a fast getaway. When I move away from being stationary say in traffic and there's no rush then I hardly raise my rpm above tick over, probably 1000rpm at most. The engine is so torquey that I sometimes pull away in 2nd using the same amount of rpm's. Using 1500 to 2000rpm is way to much and because the clutch bites late anyway you're going to cause more wear than necessary. All I can suggest is keep practising, never having driven with a stick before it will feel unnatural but I assure you that within a week or two you'll be launching off down the road like a race driver. I hope this is of some help to you. I'm loving that spoiler on the upper part of your rear screen
