Hydroplaneing
I was in my first rain storm and experienced "white knuckle" hydroplaneing at all speeds above 25 MPH. I even tried it with the TC turned off. Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you overcome it. New tires?

just remember: In the face of water. wider tires are your enemy ;) I've had cars that would hydroplane no matter what I tried. Especially out here in VA where it can rain pretty hard and the choice of tire didnt make too much difference. On your average rainy day a good wet traction tire can work wonders, but if you're caught in a bad storm and the water on the road is getting pretty deep then theres nothing really you can do but slow down. Especially in a rear driver.

The speed you actually hydroplane at is 9 times the square root of your tire pressure . Now the traction you have before you go up on plane is directly related to the tread. You probably have a tire thats just not water friendly.
