Brake Squeal
I got new pads put in on my front brakes in December. I just had new brakes put in at Brakes Plus about a month ago and they checked and flushed all of them. Everything was looking good at that time. Now, I have a horrible squeal that happens every so often, especially when I start and stop a lot, like in a parking garage. It appears to be coming from my front brakes. My car is a 2000 Dodge Intrepid. What could be the problem? Is there a maintenence procedure I can do on my own to try and correct the problem?

Well, i know this answer is eight years too late but somewhere along the line someone else is going to be asking the same question. The simple answer is to put a dab of coppergrease on the rear side of each pad and this will prevent the squeal that you talk about. I hope that 8 years on you've gone and got rid of that Intrepid and bought yourself a decent 350Z.

LOL~ Congrats on your intrepid archive search and your technical insight... Auto part retailers around here now offer you a packet of that grease for free with your new brake pads.
But why would anyone buy a 350Z when so many Z31s are still available? Makes no sense to me... :120: |
Because the Z33 is leagues ahead of the Z31.
