350Z Tire Recommendations

Coming up on the first tire change after the Camber repair on my 03 350Z. I have the Touring Edition with 18" Rims, and was wondering what tires everyone has had the best luck with? I want high-perf tires that can handle well in rain, best with a water treadline. But I want to make sure I get tires that don't have the dual compound that suck once you get to the tread marker...

Bridgestone SO3's have always been a favorite for autocrossers.

If you wanna drop big coin, you can get huge rims and roll your fenders. If you just want good rims, at reasonable cost, find or meet a buddy at Discount Tire and get your rims and tires in one shot. 5Ziegen's aren't too bad, it took a while on the AutoX track to bend em, and you can have fun not being worried about trashing expensive rims.

Here is Dallas, you are a block away from the next car eating pothole no matter where you are!

Kumho MX's were great, but I'm told they are going to be discontinued. Their replacement is the Kumho XS. It's a 180 wear compared to a 220 wear on the MX's and in the 275/35/18 size the XS is 4lbs lighter than the MX!

I'll have mine mounted hopefully by the end of the week if they get here.

Sumitomo HTR Z3

I just installed a set of Sumitomo HTR Z3's and so far no complaints. Much quieter than the Bridgstone Potenza 050's that came on the car. Tire Rack gave them a thumbs up, and they are not as expensive as some tires.

I recently put Falken 452's on my '07 and so far like them. They're 245/35-19 and 275/35-19 and seem to be a good less expensive tire. Discount Tire reviews give them 4 out of 5 stars.

Shows how much everyone knows. Yokohama has the best traction. YOKOHAMA! Why would someone buy a Z then put Bridgestone or Michelin tires on it? It doesn't make sense.:102:
