Is the engine wiring on a auto different from the manual transmission Or is there any difference in the ecu that would cause a problem? The engine i just got came off of a 91 auto and I'm putting it into a 90 man.

Engine wiring is the same. Auto ECUs have automatic transmission information, but they can be swapped into a MT car just fine.

Only relevant difference with an auto TT engine is a slight difference in cams and smaller turbos (both done to make the auto Z32TT spool more quickly to accelerate like a MT Z32TT).

Ok thanks. Is there any special tool to press in the pilot bushing on the engine, for the transmission?

Yeah one already shattered on me. I was even being careful to keep it lined up.

trick is to first make sure your crank doesn't have any burrs or anything inside it. if it's clean inside, it's pretty easy to press in. i have always used a stick of wood about as big around as the pilot bushing. you have to watch it to make sure it's strait though. getting it crooked is the problem. hit it on the high side if it gets turned and i don't know what else to tell you. i've never had a problem.

I got one in now. I bought one and i think it was made out of some kind of alloy. I got the old one out and pressed it into my other engine just fine, it looked like it was just brass and the other was an alloy. That seems screwed up to me. Like someone tried to make a product better but it ended up just being a piece of crap.

so i finally got around to pulling out my old brittle wiring to replace it with the newer wiring, and i can't get the plugs to go through the fire wall. i tried rubbing a little grease on to help, didn't work. Is there a good way to do this without taking out the dash?

my new pilot bushing was some type of alloy as well. i don't know which is preferred. it went in fine for me.

i've heard of people having a lot of trouble fitting it through the fire wall. i've never looked into it much though. a bit of searching should yield useful results though.

tape the **** out of it with electrical tape (fold the wiring down so that it's just a long rod of electrical tape).
