over 3 years of modifications and LOTS of time... Right now my Z has problems, so im trying to fix it.. Doesnt it always seem like that, you fix one thing, then sometime else fails. haha. I put a lot of money into it, because its just a long term hobby.. As long as it keeps building up, it'll look cooler and cooler. hehe

yo, i kno exactly what u mean. I am having problems with my car pulling to the right, i got new tires, brand new z rated and i got allignment then 3 times now and the mechanic at nissan still cant figure out whats wrong. thats the fukced up part bro. Something about my toe being bent or someshit. then my shifter is loose and the guy says i need bushings to make it shift better. and then this other mechanic that gave me an oil change yesterday at nissan told me i am going to need a new clutch pretty soon so now i dont know what the heck is happing bro.... sometimes i think they bullshitting cause they make labor money out of it. cause the other mechanic who specializes in Zs didnt tell me nothing about my clutch... can u descibe or explain to me about ur clutch, cause my clutch seems pretty thin because when i shift gears. it doesnt pull straightaway. so i guess its just deja vu. well good luck with ur z...

By the way...When u first got ur z. how long it take u to get ur first modification?did u pay cash or from dealer?

Wow, you got a lot of problems... If, when you shift if it feels stiff or hard to shift, you need new bushings.. CHEAP.. Get bushers at nissan and do it yourself if you know how. Very easy but takes 30-40mins to change it out from inside of the car.

The pulling part.... Could be a bad tension rod bushing or something or wheel bearing. Im not really good with suspension of what could be wrong, I just know how to install parts. haha.

You only need a new clutch if it slips or you can smell it burning a lot when you torque it hard.

well when i bought the z, it had a jwt ecu, single pop and a few other things.. My first mod if I remember correctly was a replacement pop charger. heheh. I paid cash with that..

badboyZ2NV 10-26-2003 12:56 PM

when i shift, its not hard or stiff to shift. the shifter is loose. like its soo easy to move around.like u can play around with it back and forth hehe if u know what i mean hahah anyways.. do u think i need bushings ?..If so , can u give me the exact name of the part i need so i can go to nissan and buy it from the part department, and how much would it cost. if u know the price. im guessing a few bucks right?.. IF u say it takes 30-40 mins to replace the bushings,,How come the nissan mechanic that was working on my car, WHO IS A Z SPECIALIST as well and alot of people recomment and go to in FL, told me itll be a few hours for labor. ..if it is that easy, maybe u can email me and help me out a little with some instructions on how to change the bushings myself. toughguy006@netscape.net . hehe
or maybe a beginner cant take his chances and go to someone who knows. what do u think ?haha...

as for the pulling to the right, im sick and tired of that shit, nissan needs to find the problem, im tired of beign around the dealership 24/7. i need to find a z specialist somewhere otuside of nissan.. and what u mean if the clutch slips? please explain. and how do i find out if its smelling cause normally when i drive fast and flex my ride to work and get out the car , it does smell but im thinking its the Fan, or something int he engine or maybe the exaust. maybe oil. how can i see if its the clutch?..my clutch feels ok. it shifts fine! and im new at Stick shift. i dont jerk or anything once.

Do you have any other friends that drive stick? Or someone else that's familiar with a manual transmission. Have you checked with a local Zcar club? If you tire of going to the Nissan dealer who ultimately just wants all your money anyway, maybe it's time to become friends with the Z mechanic and try to get him to do some side jobs on your car.
Well the ultimate way to tell if you've fried your clutch is, if your car doesn't move anymore. LOL Basically if the car still moves, you should be fine. However, that doesn't mean that the clutch isn't about to go. Like I said try and find someone that's familiar with driving stick. Someone you trust preferably.

badboyZ2NV 10-26-2003 10:14 PM

yeah i have a few people who i can ask , who drives stick but i wish there was actually a shop just for Zs here . lol...i just got back from driving and everything feels fine but ur right it doesnt meant the clutch isnt going to to at anytime... By the way. when u drive ur z and u accelerate on each gear. does ur engine sound loud when u accelerate?cause when i accelerate on each gear even just a lilbit. the engine is loud. im thinking it happens to most Zs cause its a powerful v6

If you mean the exhaust then yes. The vg30de series of engines seem to have a particularly low resonance frequency. Or it could just be the body of a Z32 that has the low resonance. It's probably loudest right around 2000 rpm. It should then drop in intensity until about 4800-5000 rpm to redline. Different exhaust systems will affect this, but usually not by very much.
