upper intake manifold

I know Companies make intake manifolds for honda civics and crxs etc. have anybody try an intake manifold that uses only 1trhottle and a lot bigger like 5 inches or something like that, I will love to have a custom intake manifold for a z 32.

one big TB more then likely kill power then help it, i think an ITB setup would be more benificial then just putting on big TB, that and you woulsed also lose alot of velocity with one big ITB, that and these cars actually make power

AND torque in a usable power band..

Nissan knew what they were doing when they designed the VG30DE. :D

those cars were not designed with performance in mind, whereas the z32 was. i agree that going to a single TB would hurt more than help. typically, "performance" crap that works on honduhs does not apply to the Z.

For what it's worth, I have been thinking of going with larger throttle bodies offered by Z1 (basically enlarged OEM twin throttle bodies) as seen here:

http://www.z1motorsports.com/product...oducts_id=1911

My only concern is the yields in throttle response at upper RPMs will be at the expense of low-speed and off idle response. Any thoughts?

oh yeah, IMO going from dual throttle bodies to a large single throttle body would certainly be highly contrary to improved performance.

Hey Scott_91tt

I'd wait till either Z1 gets the correct intake hoses manufactured before you go with that. Z's don't really have any problem breathing until you get past a threshold that cannot be attained with stock turbos and injectors and such.

yea, i wouldnt be worried about bigger TBs until i had large turbos, ICs, dual intake, ash's larger IC pipes

Thanks for the input guys, I don't have this on my list *yet* but might in the future and agree that the other companion mods should be done to take advantage (turbos, injectors, etc).
