turbos only 7psi 95% of time

I am currently only getting about 7 psi of boost after some times when the car is hot I get 14 psi and my car is idleing very rough(300-1000 rmps). It sounds like I blew off a vacum line but i can not see it. Does anyone know where I Can get a diagram for the vacum lines. Or any suggestions why my turbos are only putting out 7 psi 95% of the time?

You are in safety boost. You need to find the root of your problem and then you probably won't go into safety boost anymore. Many things can cause the ECU to limit the boost to 7 psi. Start by checking your error codes in the computer.

Re: turbos only 7psi 95% of time

Hello all,

I am a bit new to this forum and was interested in this topic. I just purchased a 95 TT about a month ago. Planning my mod wish list and looking for a excellent shop. However, I have a question regarding the 7psi; when does the turbo exceed the 7psi. I have been driving my Z for a couple of weeks, though not hard, and I have not seen it exceed 7psi. The max rpm so far is about 4k.

Thanks.

The carb spray is a good idea!

*JUST BE VERY VERY CAREFUL*

Only do this when your car is cool, start it up after letting it sit overnight, and do it right out the gate, then leave the hood open to make sure fumes don't stand and that the engine cools off.

I would also suggest doing this in the shade and keep a water hose near just in case..
