Steering Wheel Removal
My wheel is off center, wondering if the removal procedures are the same for one equipped with airbag, the online manual doesn't depict it in the instructions and I don't want to start pulling it off and have the thing deploy on me.
I've looked over the tie rods and they appear ok, nothing bent. I could possibly make the adjustment there and correct it but I'm not sure if that would be good or not. It's off by almost 90 degrees while driving, and it mentions you can make a small adjustment at the tie rods if it's not quite dead center. |
center the steering wheel and see if one of the front tires is sticking in/out, most likely the last alignment job wasn't done with the steering wheel centered, or they just adjusted on side.
|
They're both turned to right when wheel is centered.
|
Then you will have to align/get it aligned correctly, who ever does it, is going to have to bring the left balljoint out and the right balljoint in, assuming the steering wheel has never been taken off.
|
I attempted to adjust it myself, I've got both front wheels off for the weekend. But I couldn't get the adjustment nut to budge. But since I don't have an alignment gauge I'll probably just take it in. But at least nothing looks damaged up there, and I painted the stock calipers too, looks pretty good now. Just need to do the back.

Just make sure you tell them that the steering wheel needs to be centered, before they do the alignment.
