Shopping for a transmission
 

Does anyone know what I should expect to pay for a transmission? I've got a stripped out bolt hole for my starter that can't seem to be fixed so I figured I should get a replacement. The gears are probably pretty worn as well. So far the best I've seen for a used one is $995. Sounds like alot.

If you're looking for an automatic, I paid $900. Turns out the mechanis was wrong in needing it though, so I do have one for sale if anyone is interested. I want it gone so I'd be willing to lose a bit on it to help someone out and be done with it. I just don't need the spare taking up space. It's got about 100K on it, works fine, nothing wrong. It was actually was in my 1990 NA 2+2 for a while, no complaints.

No,it's a 5 spd thanks anyway. I saw someone had a 5spd Nismo tranny with modified 1st & 2nd gears for $1K but I really don't know if that would be worth it.
