I have a 1990 Z and when the clutch is disengaged it makes a rattleing sound kinda like when a computer fans bearings are bad. It only does it around 1800-2000 rpm, now when in gear i can hear it slightly not to bad, any ideas, i have a feeling its the throwout bearing?Thanks

 

to be honest, i would really think this is your drive shaft, the center bearing probaly, how bad is this shaking? but if its doing it at around those RPMS, i would say check out center bearing on your drive shaft. how many miles on your car?

Its your throw out bearing most likely. I had the same prob with my 90 Z.

 

my car has about 134000 and its not really shaking, the rattling sound just starts at those rpm then goes away.

 

yea thats exactly how mine was...throwout bearing most likely...i just dealt with it until I needed a clutch....
