question about mods

hey, well im planning on putting on some JWT 650 turbos (650HP turbos), and some other mods, well... i want to get my 300zxtt up around 650 horses... and i was just wondering if the stock 5 spd. tranny would hold up? and what is the maximum HP the stock 5 spd. can handle without blowing up or breaking?! any info. would be great help, thanx!
p.s. i dont have the Z yet, im looking into a 1991 or 92 300zxtt, and im looking at the 5 spd., and so for that year/model, what is the maximum HP output that tranny can withstain?! thanx again. o yea, haha sorry, but i was wondering if any1 had some suggestions on mods i could do to my Z to get it around the 650HP range (ex: aftermarket turbo's, exhaust, etc.) and what amount of money (ball park figure) am i looking at spending to accomplish this?

Re: question about mods

The tranny might be able to hold for a while, but I doubt it would for long. You would definately need a new clutch.

Here is a list of mods that will get you to 650 hp:
Dual POP charger
UD pulley
JWT ECU
Test Pipes
Downpipe
Exhaust (B&B)
Boost Controller
NOS
Intercooler
Ported Throtle Body
555cc Injectors
650 Turbo
Cam upgrade

I would estimate 12000 just for the parts, then go figure on what it costs to install, then your going to need larger tires to put all that HP on the ground, so thats prolly another 3k to do it right. Then your going to need upgraded brakes to bring it all to a halt, so thats another 3k for the brembo package...ok im starting to sweat now ;)

Hope that helps,

Re: question about mods

Ohh ya, your prolly going to need a good Blow off Valve, cause I only think the stock recurculators can handle 550hp, and your prolly gonna want an upgraded suspension too.

Re: question about mods

thanks, anything else?! and im planning to do the work myself! so that saves A LOT of money right there! um... what kind of suspension setup would u recommend to get the 650HP to the ground and "bite"?!? um... o yea... also how much HP can the stock 5 spd. tranny handle? and if it wont last long, what mods or upgrades can i do to the tranny or would it be cheaper to just buy a new upgraded tranny?! and what do u think this will cost?! thanx a lot!
