problems with turbos?
 

Im considering buying a 93 twin-turbo 300zx with 88k miles.
My uncle, who is a somewhat reputable mechanic has told me not to buy it because i will probably have tons of problems with the turbos. Is he just talking out of his ass or does he have a point?

With 88k miles (assuming that there hasn't already been a turbo replacement/rebuild) I would imagine your looking at a rebuild of the stock turbos withing a couple years. Depending, of course, on how you and the previous owner drove the vehicle. Either way expect to dump a couple thousand into the car in the first two years just in maintanance alone. Everything that I read says your will need new turbos between 90k and 120k. That seems to be the range.
