OMG- Damn Plenum
OMG- Damn Plenum
being the last resort to fix my idle and power loss, went to take off the upper plenum to get to the injectors. and damn, its been a bitch. started around 10 this morning, currently 4, it feels like its ready to come off, but something is keeping it and i have no idea what. the front of it lifts up fine, but dead center in the back feels tight, ive searched around to see what it is, but i have no clue. i took some various shots to see if you guys can help me locate the problem. and yes, this my first real physical work on doing anything with the Z in the engine, i hooked up my exhaust, but this plenum stuff is a nuisance. please help. ive also referred to the TT-tech tut, but still cant seem to locate the problem.

Someone else might be able to tell you but this also might help. http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnettech/plenum/plenum.aspx
Did you try plugging that AIV hose and see if that helped?

Crap, I need to pay attention to the damn post. You have already read that tech. Working night shift now is messing with my brain
91zxtt can probably tell you what it is, having just done it.

go to the local auto parts store, they should have a corrosion remover that you can spray on there.
Usually it's reserved for battery terminals but if they're that bad then you could use it on the connectors.
since you got the plenum off, now would be a good time to clean the hell out of it and make it shine real nice like.

So what was the final culprit? From the pics it looked like your EGR tubes were still connected. With the EGR bypass the plenum is about 35min to take off and 45 to put on. Yeah, dude make it shine shine shine.
