Need some Exhaust help! Asap!!!

I got 2 HKS Dragger style mufflers, and was wondering exactly how I should have them hooked up.

I have a 93 NA with an intake and upgraded clutch. I currently run 14.9's.

Should I just do straight 2.5inch pipe from the manifolds to the mufflers.....2.5inch through a Xpipe then the mufflers?

I don't know if I'll have enough back pressure with just straight pipe and the mufflers. I also don't want alot of tinny popping sound.

Thanks

You should be fine. A lot of people (NAs included) run with straight pipes, as long as you don't have to worry about emissions (cats). Don't go ANY larger than 2.5" with the pipes on the NA, otherwise you will start to lose backpressure. If you're talking about running 2.5" pipes from the manifolds back to an X-pipe, then to the mufflers (all at 2.5"), you should be golden. I'm not sure of the opening size of the HKS systems, but muffler width shouldn't affect anything really.

Are you having this all custom made? If so, post some pics afterwards, sounds like a nice custom job.

Oh and by the way... 14.9 with just intake and clutch upgrade? Nice driving!

Yeah it's being done by a one a kind guy.

He's a redneck in FL with a lift in his Driveway...hiden way back on his property.

I was always sketchy, but he does the best exhaust work in FL, and is only charging me 150$ (not counting the mufflers I bought).

He'll probably drop the price if I show up with beer =P.

Ok I'll try just straight through. Just hoping it will be enough and won't sound like ass.

Don't know what clutch it is, just know it grabs alot better and is a little tougher on the leg hehe.
