Need a little help choosing an intake filter

Hi everyone!

I'm new to this forum, so I don't know if anyone has asked this yet. I'm guessing someone probably has , but I'll ask anyway...:)

I'm looking for an intake filter for my 1994 NA z32 (this will be my first mod) :D . I was looking at both the JWT Pop-charger and the Stillen Hi-Flow Intake. I want to try my best to get one that is street legal, but I also want the best results for my money... Any advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Paul

Power and throttle response will improve throughout the entire RPM range. the STILLEN Hi-flow intake is 50 state legal. Same with the JWT Pop Charger... you can expect anywhere from a 5-15hp gain... could be more with the STILLEN intake...who knows, either or, it all really depends on how much your wanting to spend on it...you can easily put it in yourself, all you gotta do is rip out the stock box filters and put in the charger, or stillen intake. The charger it self, is $120 directly off courtesy parts of nissan...

but the stillen intake will probably cost more.

I just have a K&N filter with an adapter. all for $60ish at the local speed shop. was cheap, and I noticed a difference.

thx Grimm! :)

I was looking at the JWT b/c I heard that it was better...I don't know, but considering the price and now that I know it's street legal, that REALLY helps me make the choice! :D

I was curious though as to the K&N Filter and adapter that you have? B/c it's even better to only have to spend roughly $60 on it ^_^ .

I'll tell you that in Japan the popular choice is the HKS Power flow. when you do decide there is a flap on the inside of the front bumper in front of where the filter will go. DONT CUT THIS FLAP IT WILL DEFLECT WATER FROM YOUR INTAKE! Me personaly, I like the HKS power flow the best!

hmm, this makes my choice a little more difficult...

But many thx for the advice guys! :) Now I'm going to sit back and put some thought into where my money is going! :D

sincerely,
Paul

p.s thx drag_300japan for the tip! :( it wouldn't have been good if I accidentaly did that!

choosing your filter

I hope I'm not responding too late but you should have a look at e-bay for your filter. The injen system may be pricey but it includes the intake pipes that provide better flow to the throttle bodies that the stock plastic pipes. If your concerned about price I've seen a knock-off that's similiar. I personally went with a K&N filter adapter since the injen system wasn't available at the time that I changed mine. Once again, I hope I was able to reach you in time. Happy Hunting!
