Need Help on buyng a Z!

Hello to everyone. I was the owner to a beautiful 1998 Maxima GLE untill two nights ago when a drunk driver decided to ruin my dinner by slaming into my car and completely demolishing it. Its totaled and I always loved Z cars so I'm in the market for one. I just need to kno sme basic stuff.
1. Is the car easy to maintain and modify
2.What year is best to get in the 90-96 range.
3.What are some things to check for that usualy go easily
4.What price should I be looking to spend with good miles

If I left anything else out I need to know when purchasing please let me know. Also if you know of any for sale in the New York, New Jersey or any surrounding areas please let me know. Thanks P.S. I can't wait!!

well the 1990 z has no airbags so if you wanted a racing wheel and still stay legal this is the way to go .. i personally like the 91 twin turbos.
modifying takes some money for these cars but from the right ppl they make this car a beaut.
in the north east z cars can run some high bucks. its all in how much you're actually willing to spend.

For $1600 you can be at 400 hp car on a TT. That's pretty good considering you can get a early 90's car in good cond. for under $12k.
Here is a shopping info site I made a while ago for Z32 shopping. http://flyt300.home.attbi.com/shopping

Happy ZX'in

Re: Need Help on buyng a Z!

You have to buy a Z!!!!!. I have never had so much fun driving a hot ride especially with the tops down. I bought my '96 300z in Cali and the only problem I had was a burnt out clutch that these young punks did to my baby when they were test driving it. Of course, the warranty doesn't cover it. I would stick to the latest models because they are fully equipped. Also, when you do finally get your Z, don't use any cheap gas because the manufactor doesn't recommend any fuel injection additives. By the way, my Z had low miles for a 96. 53K as a matter of fact; therefore, I had to pay 19G's. Expect to pay that much if the car is in good shape with low miles, if not, then you should pay around 10K. The car is easy to maintain as long as you stick with the maintenance schedule. You don't necessarily have to go to the dealer all the time, but use good judgement. For example, if you need a timing belt change, take it to the dealer. But if you need a 60K mile service, than any reputable shop can do that. Other than that, I have had no problems with it except for outrunning guys that think they hang with this!!! :-) Let me know if you need more info. I'm definitely a Z enthusiast!!!!

Thanks for the help to all of you. Also dees300z I would definitly like your email address because I will definitly have questions to ask you if you don't mind. I finally found my baby. She's a 1993 5spd TT with 88K miles on her. She's all stock, white, with tan leather interior, and I can't wait to pick her up this week. I paid 13,500 and I found her in Maryland. She was origianlly from texas then virginia and then North Carolina. So she's pretty much been all highway driving and nice weather as compared to where I live New York. If theres any maintanence I'm supposed to do soon at this mile mark please let me know. Thanks again and I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!
