Need Answers On TT Motor
Look for the oil tap that lead to the turbines. Why cant you find the turbos? Not there???? Im racking my brain to think of the difference's in VG30DE and DETT... There arent all that many visual differences if the turbos and exhaust manifolds arent there. If you are inclined, break down the engine, and yank the heads, the heads should be aproximately 1/2 thick on the walls. Give some more info so we can help you out.
No I think he is saying the engine is out. If its IN the car, easiest way to tell is look at the VIN... If it is in fact TT, it will simply say VG30DE(TT), and the VIN number number will read JN1CZ for TT. If it is NA it will read JN1RZ. Also could look for a boost gauge, and boost hoses. Intercoolers... Etc. There are plenty of differences.

Post a pic of the engine. Our expert staff of advisers will let you know ASAP.
As Dom mentioned, the intake pipes (2 to TB's and 2 to Turbos) should be the 1st thing you see. Aren't the exhaust manifolds different also?

That was a joke. He should get some pictures.
Woah Woah Woah... The engine is IN the car????? And you cant tell its whether its a turbo or not... Mmmmm.
Ok... Look in the bottom of the engine bay, closest to the firewall, and you should see the turbo's. If not, you will see some rusted old pipes leading off the heads... Then its a VG30DE. Also, like theyve said before:
Look for two pipes snaking out from under the engine, and leading into the airbox under the centerpeice. Those lead straight to the turbos... I can think of plenty of other differnces, but it is apperent that your not too mechanically inclined to do these test's, so well just leave it at this. Well dude I hope we helped, shoot us back.

If you have 4 intake pipes, it has to be a turbo. Turbos can't just be removed. The car would run like crap, plus it would have less power than an NA. a lot of things don't make sense here. If/when you take pictures, please take a picture of the area NISMO described.
Im fed up with this mumbo jumbo. I think that if the car was turbo, then you would know it. If not, then you dont know it. But what it comes down to is you knowing it, or maybe you not knowing it. Or, OR....Maybe you know that you know you dont know what it is. And you want us to let u know that not knowing you can ask us becuase we kno what you dont know at least what you knw we dont know, knowing that we know you dont know either. Ya know.
