Keeping it auto
Keeping it auto
So I recently bought a 1990 300zx NA 2+0 and already looking to increase power. My end goal is somewhere around 450hp as I read pistons and other stuff fail right below 500. I did searches on here and other sites and almost chose a VH45de swap simply because Im used to V8 muscle cars but the transmission leaves me questioning it's potential. I also looked up all the possible ways to turbo it from adding turbos to doing a VG30DETT swap and upgrading turbos later. I am not considering selling it and purchasing a TT simply because they are extremely rare here in Hawaii and if I found one it probably would be manual trans and not in as good a shape as I found this one.
Well I think I'm going with the TT swap while upgrading turbos as I feel why not choose an engine that belongs in there anyways? I would love a R32 engine but don't think they make them for auto or would it be possible to fab something up?
Basically looking for ideas on building a kick a$$ auto Z so there are my questions and some info I gathered but I want to hear what you guys think. Most the info I found were about manual shift projects so anyone with a pretty modded or powerful auto 300Z please advise! Thanks for your time.

Auto
Always debate over Auto VS Manual. But you can build an auto that just kicks A SS. Gear ratios Stall Converters. The only problem with the street use is keeping them cool. Go that way a really good trans cooler is important. Having a custom build converter is cheaper then buying one from the aftermarket. The same company's that supply trans shops with remanufactured converters can do this.
