Intake.

This kinda goes along with the other post about intake (i didn't want to hi-jack that one). But I put my hand over the intake and revved the motor. I felt suction, but not a lot. Should I feel a lot? Should it be a strong suction? Tahnks for any help.

The suction you felt was probably momentary. Your experiment would be better served with some help. Have someone steadily increase the throttle, that way you'll feel all the suction you want. The amount of air needed is relative to the rpm that you're in. The higher the rpm the more air the engine'll need. The more air needed the more it'll suck to get it. The more it sucks the more you'll feel it on your hand that's blocking the air that's trying to get in.

How strong should the suction be though. Basically, I just put my hand over the filter and revved the motor via the throttle cable. Should it be strong suction...no mistakes or should it be kinda subtle but noticaeable at the same time?

The higher the rpm, the stronger the suction.

Why are you so worried about this? If the car measures the amount of air ingested and provides the correct amount of fuel for it. So I don't understand where your worry is originating from.

Yea, I guess you're right. It just seemed odd to me b/c other cars with intake seemed to just suck in a whole lot more air. I was wondeirng if their was something wrong and if I was getting robbed of tons of power or something.

Well think about it man, when your at the idle, your butterfly valve is almost closed completely, there isnt going to be THAT much suction. On our project GSX powered by the 4g63t engine, we noticed the same thing... And it had over 500hp! So rev it manually by pressing the throttle, (remove throttle cord cover it neccesary... 3 hex bolts, or 4?) take off your filter as well, and place your hand flush to the MAF, and see how much its increased. Peace foo's

Yea, I talked to the club mechanic today about a few things...one of them being this intake problem. He said I shouldn't feel much suction b/c the turbos won't create boost wihtout a load on them really. So it's normal.
