Re: How much hp fo 4k?
I can think of 3 choises!
you can get a simple...cheapest twinturbo for about 3.5K and it adds about 40% of your hp, then you would wanna get inercooler and a ECU
BUT then you better get some money for exhaust and intake...for the turbos to work their max..
BUT if you car is over100K then Turbos are junk....just lighten up your car......seats, rip A/C out, then you have about 3.200 left over, get an exhaust, ECU, camsaft, POP charger,
OR something I would do......rebuild the engine and get an exhaust...then your engine is rady for almost anything....save some money and drop all the [censored] you can..at least then you know your engine is ready for it...

If you max out the stock turbos (17-19 psi), and have JWT ECU, boost controller, intake, exhaust, downpipes, test pipes, and intercoolers, you could do low 12's if you know how to drive. If you want 11's, you would need to upgrade the turbos to like JWT Sport 500's. That'll get you high 11's.

The turbos are totally maxed
at 19 psi. If you have 555cc injectors and aftermarket intercoolers, your motor will be fine. That's not the weak point. The weak point is small turbos. I don't recommend driving at 19 psi daily. I'd drive at 17 psi daily. After 18-19 psi, you just won't see much gain on the dyno because all the extra boost is just producing hot air. And hot air does you no good...very little oxygen content in hot air. Who told you the motor will die? If you had stock injectors, it would die, but not larger ones.

Re: The turbos are totally maxed
well you didn't say anything about injectors.... and bigger injectors doesn't relate to what I said..I'm talking about dieing from the oil presure pushin' on the block and intercooler,
drag cars run 14psi and they fly....
plus....my 90Ztwin runs with 13psi daily, 16 on streetrace running low 11s, and I'm sure 19 woun't go any faster...
I've tried and I don't see alot of difference...I persanoly think it's to much for turbos(size doesn't matter) and waste of money for biger intercoler and complet waste of oil
but it's up to the owner how it runs
good luck

Re: The turbos are totally maxed
I'm calling bullshit, my friend. There is no way you are running low 11's on stock turbos. I've seen the best of drivers run 10's with TD05's. You produce some timeslips before you go misinforming people. I've been part of the Z community on twinturbo.net for 4 years. And there's no way you're running low 11's on stock turbos.

Re: The turbos are totally maxed
by 90Ztwin I didn't mean stock turbo. I was talking about the car type..
I'm running a "Sport 600" from Jim Wolf...also a stage 3 upgraded
dual POP charger,
and JWT exhaust
there is alot of oter modiffications...but we talked about turbos..so there....

Re: The turbos are totally maxed
Well now that makes more sense. By the way, there is a 96TT on twinturbo.net running 19 psi (on race gas) with an AFC, intake, exhaust, downpipes, and test pipes and put down 374 rwhp. And that's without a JWT ECU. I don't necessarily agree with that, but the stock turbos can handle 19 psi although I would never drive it daily like that. I believe people have seen improvements up until 18-19 psi on the dyno. I agree that at that point, they are just blowing hot air and hence you are not seeing the hp go up after 19. But the cutoff is closer to 19 than 17.

Re: The turbos are totally maxed
yeah! stock will handle but as you said there is no point of that cuz there is not much of improvement wich means it's waste of oil, intercooler and actually a turbo it self...
my car puts 412hp to the weels but for now the car is alittle too havy all I have inside that's not stock are seats and interier color....plus 4x12in subs so I could probably drop about 200 lbs. for about $600 that would help out

Re: running 19psi on stock turbos
turbos are fine the leak of power is from throtal bodies cuz I had to modify them for dual POP carger and the punk I trusted to do it got something wring I guess I say that because I have low vacume on the intake, and I think I might need new intercooler cuz the temp. of oil on turbos running alittle high.
it's no fun when there is no problems right?
