How durable is diff under extreme loads?

Hey Folks,

what is the history of the z tranny and diff when these cars are put on the roadcourses? I'm running Redline (MT-90 for tranny, and 75-90 for the rear) fluids and changing them every 3 or 4 race weekends. I'm getting in about 60-80 track miles each race weekend.

Anyone know of or run personally a modded z32tt on roadcourses? What is the long term effect? And if anyone knows, what's the historical life of the rear under such a load?

Thanks for any input,

Steve

Steve,
Not many TT's saw competitive track time in SCCA type racing . The NA was classed in T2 . There is a guy up in the Bay Area with some track time on his TT.

What kind of HP numbers do you think your running now ? I take it you still have
the factory LSD unit also.

Drag racing is much much harder on the
drivetrain then track time is . How does the fluid look when you drain it ? If it clean
and no metals in it you should be fine. I figured that TT running big HP would break the tires loose before breaking any other parts. I bet you can spin the tires exiting a corner even in 3rd :)

Let me see if I can dig up the guys information.

Mike

You might want to put this down in the Racing board.

I know this Club runs at Thunderhill a lot . Here is a link to there site .

I will find a few others for you tomorrow

Here is Carl Merrits right up on his Open Track Challenge experience with his NA and his buddies TT.

For anyone's info,

I just changed out the diff grease in preparation for Moroso on Sunday. After 7 months and 5 weekends total on the track, the grease looked and smelled as} good as new. And the magnet was dang near clean.

So far I would say it's a pretty tough unit. {steve knocks on wood three times}
