HICAS=Headaches
 

My car is not doing to well, first off i need a new slave cyl, which i replaced but its not bleeding right. thats not the problem...the problem is my HICAS...I have a leak in a spot that no mechanic can fix unless they pull the Engine, which i cannot afford. I know of the hicas removal system that Stillen makes, but i dont know if it get rid of the fluid lines that run from the pump to the HICAS system....and the rest of the system as well...how much of a weight reduction does it give and is it hard to put in yourself????

If you remove the HICAS system you'll shave about 30 LBS or so. The Stillen unit isn't that difficult to install.
If you remove the lines, just make sure you plug them well. You still are pumping power steering fluid for the regular ps system and don't want any leaks.

What kind of leak are you experiencing???

I might have the same problem. Theres a leak coming out of my car and my power steering fluid resevouir went empty 3 months ago, and yes i filled it back up. But how did it drain?.. well the leak of course.

the leak is from the hoses from the resovior to the hicas system in the back and there is 800lbs of pressure goin through the hoses....no simple patch job there....id have to pull the motor and i dont want to do that ...the tranny was just out....if the hicas eliminator can make it so i can just get that hose outta there...ill love it :D
