header installation

ok so i have a 90' 300zx na and i heard that you need to drop the tranny to install them and put them on from underneath. Is this true? is there a way to put them in from the top?

Have to go it from the bottom. Will be an even bigger PITA with the trans in... I wouldn't even bother with headers TBH.
