1 Attachment(s)
Came in the mail today.
Way too damn hot to put them in right now.
I think imma wait till about Friday or Saturday when it's not 90+ :eek:and insane humidity outside.

phrozen209 08-03-2005 02:03 PM

cool, you got the new packaging; when i ordered from courtesy, i got the old-school red and blue hamburger design packaging.

Riz Z Speed 08-03-2005 02:40 PM

i ordered from Coz.
That could be why.
weird thing tho, invoice said coz but on the packaging itself it says it came from Mount Prospect IL, which isn't that far away from me.

Riz Z Speed 08-05-2005 05:53 PM

put the new plugs in today. :D
changed the oil. :D
Fixed my clutch too. Had a soft pedal feel and was getting hard to engage, but it's corrected now.
I'm so happy! :D

here's the condition the coilpacks were in. Real dirty so i cleaned them.

I see'em just fine. try refreshing your page.

b300z 08-05-2005 07:46 PM

they look good to me!!!

Riz Z Speed 08-05-2005 08:14 PM

i cleaned everything with WD-40.
As a lubricant and penetrating oil, WD-40 is meh.
But for cleaning, it rocks. lol :D

Sweet, lookin good to me too. I REALLY should get around to doing the same pretty soon, who knows how long those plugs have been in my car, I wouldn't be at all suprised if at least one was fouling, (Note to self, add to to-do list)

This tech tid bit is coming from my tuner, a great source of knowledge. NGK plugs do not deserve the hype the have been getting. Denso iridium's deserve more hype...NGK plugs the tip only is iridium, however Denso's are full iridium thus increased durability and increased strength and protection against detonation.
something to think about...

the reason NGK are recommended is because they are a little bit longer, so they can fit all the way into the cylinder... check out https://www.zdriver.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11524

Riz Z Speed 08-11-2005 05:07 PM

that length only applies to the TT plugs btw.

those denso iridium plugs are a good option to the stock plugs for NA's.
For TT's everyone will tell you to go with the stock NGK plugs.

phrozen209 08-11-2005 10:51 PM

thats funny, i changed my plugs about 1,000 Miles ago from Denso Iridiums to the stock NGKs....

topless93 08-12-2005 06:39 AM

FYI......went to the Denso Ididium web site and it only listed one part number for a "93" 300zx

300ZX.............3.0L-V6..........IK20
300ZX.............3.0L-V6..........IK20
300ZX 2+2......3.0L-V6...........IK20

So it looks like thay have lumped all VG30 engines as one N/A and T/T, no listing for a VG30DETT engine.

As Riz Z Speed said, for T/T's stick with NGKs, I guess you could use the NGK Iridiums.

The only plug that will pass my Z, in my area emissions test have been NGKs. Other plugs have given my Z a failing HC levels. After running other plugs and removing them after 6 months, the electrod is always on the black side, where as the NGKs were close to being white. I have not used the Denso Iridiums as of yet, but am thinging of getting a set and trying.

did you notice any difference when switching out those bosch plugs for the ngks in performance or even just idle? im just curious cause i ordered the ngks and they should be here on monday....im excited

phrozen209 08-12-2005 10:26 PM

i know you didnt ask me, but when i switched from Denso Iridiums to NGKs, the spark plug sound in the idle was a bit less noticable.... they werent as loud as the Densos, which i think the NGKs sound better...

Riz Z Speed 08-13-2005 01:32 PM

I haven't driven my car enough to notice anything different.
My idle was normal before and after.
I don't really get on the car much so i haven't noticed a performance gain at all.
But i do have the peace of mind that i have right plugs for my engine installed.
that matters more to me right now than anything else i may or may not have noticed so far.

I didn't notice a difference in performance, mine main consern was getting my "HC" levels down so I could pass the state inspection......NGK all the way.

With Bosch plugs...HC level <164> standard<120> Fail

With NGK plugs.....HC level was below standard<120> Pass
